Platform “Doctorate in the Arts” The Brussels Model
How do you get artists, who by definition operate outside of the standardised factual knowledge of science, to obtain an academic degree as Doctor of Arts? Not by trying to ‘academicise’ them as scientists but precisely by meeting their needs as artists. That is one of the chief goals of the arts platform that has been set up by the Universitaire Associatie Brussel (University Association of Brussels) to provide support and advice on the doctor of arts degree.
